Research Interests
John Marshall is an oceanographer who studies the circulation of the ocean, its coupling to the atmosphere and the role of the oceans in climate. He is particularly interested in modeling and the applications of algorithms, machine learning, computing technology and software design to the representation of the ocean in climate models.
